Family Bowlaway is a family-owned bowling alley in Butler, PA, but they do SO much more than just offer bowling! Last year they completely renovated their space, adding a funky and fun entertainment and event space called The BackAlley. They also have a bar and grille on site, so they needed to build a website to encompass all three aspects of their event center.

Creating a design that pulled together three different, very distinct brands was a big challenge! Family Bowlaway has a fun, family-oriented logo, while The BackAlley and 11the Frame Bar & Grille are both geared more towards adults.

Working with the client, we were able to come up with a mood board that addressed each type of customer they serve while still incorporating the color palettes and styles already in use for each business.

Building a single site that serves three separate-but-together businesses well isn’t easy – organizing the content in a logical way was the next challenge. We separated the site into three main ‘sections’: Bowling, Entertainment, and Food. From there we added inquiry forms for booking parties and  event space, embedded videos and a virtual tour.

We added in a robust calendar so they can share upcoming events with distinction between each venue. Each section of the site displays upcoming events for just that unique venue – so The BackAlley events show only those, the bar & grille only show those, etc.

Their previous website was difficult for them to update on their own. Since the site launch, Family Bowlaway has been able to easily change their site content thanks to their personalized training and some easy-to-use tools I included. This has been helpful for them as they keep their customers informed of changes to their policies and hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new Family Bowlaway website gives the team a single space to promote ALL of their events and entertainment options!
